Notifications

For: Everyone Where to find it: The bell icon in the top-right of every page

Notifications are short alerts that tell you something happened on your account — a new message arrived, a rate was shared with you, a contract was signed, an agreement needs your attention. They're a fast way to keep up with activity without having to refresh every page.

What you'll see

A bell icon lives in the top-right corner of every Tourium page. When you have unread notifications, a small red dot appears on the bell. Click it to open the notifications panel.

Each notification includes:

  • An icon indicating what kind of event it is.
  • A short title and a sentence describing what happened.
  • A timestamp.
  • Small icons for marking it read or deleting it.

Common tasks

Open the notification panel

Click the bell icon in the top-right. The panel opens as a dropdown below it, with your most recent notifications first.

Open the thing a notification refers to

Click the body of the notification. Tourium takes you to the page that notification is about — for example, clicking a "new message" notification opens that conversation in Messaging.

Mark a single notification as read

Click the notification (clicking it both opens it and marks it read), or click the small "mark read" icon next to it.

Delete a notification

Click the delete (trash) icon on the notification. It disappears from your list.

Mark all notifications as read at once

Click Mark all as read at the top of the panel. Every unread notification becomes read, and the red dot on the bell goes away.

Clear everything

Click Clear all to delete every notification in your list. Only do this if you're sure you've acted on anything important — there's no undo.

Filter the list

Use the tabs at the top of the panel to switch between All and Unread only — the Unread tab hides notifications you've already seen.

Some notifications worth knowing about

Many notifications arrive both in the bell and by email. A few examples:

  • New shared documents from {supplier} (agents) — when a supplier gives your team access to new files in their shared library, everyone on your team gets a notification and an email. One upload or folder import produces one notification, however many files it contains. You're only told when you gain access — a supplier re-saving who can see a file you could already see doesn't notify you again. See Shared documents.
  • A supplier hold has expired (agents using bookings) — when a supplier's provisional hold on a booking line lapses, the booking's consultant is told, and the line goes back to pending so it can be re-requested or confirmed.
  • Pricing approvals (agents using selling prices) — when a consultant prices a quote outside their limits, everyone with the Manage pricing permission is emailed "A price needs your approval". The consultant is emailed when it's approved or rejected. See Selling prices.
  • Trial reminders (agents on a free trial) — emails as your trial approaches its end. See Billing and subscriptions.

Emails and replies

Emails Tourium sends on your behalf to other businesses and to your clients carry your brand's logo and colour, and replies go to the person who sent them rather than to a shared inbox. See Brands.

Unsubscribing from emails

Outreach emails to people who aren't on Tourium yet — such as an invitation to view rates or a special someone has shared, or the notices sent to suppliers whose rates agencies manage here — include an unsubscribe link. Clicking it asks you to confirm (Yes, unsubscribe me, or No, keep me subscribed). Once you've unsubscribed, Tourium stops sending outreach emails to that address. Essential emails still arrive — for example a password reset, a team invitation, or a document you're a party to. If you change your mind, get in touch and we'll add you back.

Choosing which emails you get

Some emails can be switched off. Open Settings → Notifications and use the switch beside each one. Each change saves straight away.

Which emails are listed depends on your organisation. Everyone can choose whether to receive:

  • Weekly product updates — a short weekly email about what's new in Tourium.
  • Rate expiry reminders and Special expiry reminders — a nudge before live rates or a special run out.
  • Upload processing finished — an email when a rate sheet or special you uploaded has been processed, or couldn't be read.

Agents also see Daily supplier updates and Supplier change announcements, which tell you what your connected suppliers have changed.

Your choices follow your email address across every organisation you belong to. Each of these emails also ends with an Unsubscribe link that switches off just that kind of email in one click, without signing in. Essential emails — password resets, team invitations, billing and documents you're a party to — can't be switched off.

Tips

  • Notifications update in real time. If something happens while you're already looking at the panel, it appears at the top of the list.
  • Old notifications may be hidden from the default view but are still archived. Use the filter to dig back.
  • The unread count is recalculated every time you open the panel — if it looks wrong, closing and reopening it refreshes it.
