Dropbox Import

For: Suppliers and agents Where to find it: Sidebar → Media & Doc Hub (suppliers) or Library (agents) → Import from Dropbox

Dropbox Import is a paid add-on that connects your Dropbox account to Tourium so you can pull files straight into your library — the Media & Doc Hub for suppliers, Library for agents — instead of downloading them and uploading them again.

It's aimed at teams who already keep their rate sheets, fact sheets and imagery in Dropbox and don't want two copies of everything.

Turning it on

  1. Go to Billing and find Dropbox Import in the Add-Ons list.
  2. Switch it on. A confirmation dialog shows the price and what your add-ons will come to per month.
  3. Confirm. If this is your first paid add-on you'll be taken to a secure checkout; nothing is charged until you complete it.

Connecting your Dropbox

  1. Go to Media & Doc Hub (suppliers) or Library (agents) and choose Import from Dropbox.
  2. You'll be sent to Dropbox to sign in and approve access. Tourium only asks for permission to read files you choose.
  3. Once approved you're returned to Tourium and the file browser opens.

You only connect once — after that the browser opens straight away.

Importing files

  1. Browse your Dropbox folders in the panel.
  2. Tick the files you want — up to 100 files per import.
  3. Once files are ticked, the dialog offers the same choices as a normal upload. They apply to every file in the batch:
    • Linked to (optional) — link the files to specific properties and services. If you haven't opened a particular folder, the files land in the folder of the first property or service you link. Links also steer extraction, so a rate sheet linked to a lodge is extracted into that lodge.
    • Process this file — say What is this document? (Rate sheet or Special; agents with the Rates Engine see Rate sheet only) and switch on Extract this now to send it straight to extraction. You'll review the result before anything is finalised. Agents then choose which of their suppliers the rate sheet is from.
    • Share with agents (optional, suppliers) — choose who gets the extracted rates. If you pick nobody, the rates stay private until you share them from Rates after review.
    • Who can view (suppliers) — exactly as on a normal upload. This starts on Same as the folder it's in, so an import into a private folder stays private and an import into the Public folder is visible to all your connections straight away. Change it here if you want a different audience.
  4. Click Import N files. Tourium copies the files into your library in the background and lets you know when they're in (and when extraction has started). The originals in Dropbox are untouched.

An import that asks for extraction is limited to 20 files, because each extracted file is a separate extraction run — deselect some files or turn extraction off to import more. Photos, videos and archives in the batch are imported as they are, without extraction.

Imported files behave exactly like ones you uploaded directly: you can file them into folders, change who can view them afterwards, change their links, and send rate sheets on for extraction later.

Importing does not publish anything by itself. Nothing you bring in from Dropbox is visible to an agent until its audience says so. See Shared library for how the Who can view setting works.

Disconnecting

You can disconnect Dropbox at any time: open Import from Dropbox and click Manage Dropbox connection, which also shows your Dropbox storage use and when you last imported. Files already imported stay in Tourium — disconnecting only stops further browsing and importing.

Switching the add-on off does the same, and asks you to confirm first, showing what your monthly cost drops to.
