A property in Tourium is a lodge, hotel, resort, villa, or any other accommodation you operate. Each brand you manage has its own properties. A well-filled-in property gives agents real information to work with — location, policies, photos, what it offers — and lets Touri recommend it for the right trips.
Properties are managed on the Properties & Services page , alongside their rates and your services. Most properties arrive there automatically when you approve a rate sheet; you can also add one by hand. For how the page works as a whole — the tree, publishing, history — see Properties & Services.
Common tasks
Add a property
- Go to Supplier Tools → Properties & Services.
- Click Add Property (in the tree, or on the empty screen if you have nothing yet).
- Fill in the tabs described below. At the very least give it a name and at least one rate — a property without a rate can't be published.
- Click Publish in the banner at the top when you're ready for your network to see it.
Edit a property
Click the property in the tree and use its tabs:
- Overview and Rooms & Rates — a summary of the property and its rooms with their rates (see Properties & Services).
- Details — Property Name, Category, Star Rating, Total Rooms, Booking URL, and Feature tags.
- Location — search for the address, pick a Region, and fine-tune the pin on the map. See Setting a property's location.
- Policies — cancellation policies, terms and conditions, blockout periods, and the children policy with Min Age and Max Age.
- Activities — activities, transfers, park fees and meals the property offers, and how each is priced.
- Images — up to 5 photos for the property, and up to 5 per room type. This tab only appears for team members who also have the Manage shared library permission, because the images live in your Shared library.
Changes are saved automatically as unpublished changes. They go live when you click Publish.
Setting a property's location
Where do you add a location, address or map pin to a property? On the Location tab.
- Go to Supplier Tools → Properties & Services and click the property in the tree.
- Open the Location tab.
- In Search address, type an address or place ("Search for an address or place") and pick the match. Tourium fills in the Country, the town or area (Location), the Full address, the Latitude and Longitude, and places the pin on the map. It also suggests a Region if it recognises one and you haven't chosen one yet.
- Check Region: pick one from the list, or type a new one. You can change the country with Country.
- Drag the pin on the map to fine-tune the exact spot. The Full address, Latitude and Longitude update as you drag; you can also type the coordinates in directly.
Everything saves automatically as an unpublished change; click Publish for your network to see it. If you only had a place name (for example from a rate sheet), the map is centred on that area with a note that the location is approximate — that guess is not saved, so drag the pin or search an address to set a real position.
Set feature tags
On the Details tab, Feature tags records what the property offers — Family friendly, Spa, Pool, Wi-Fi, Gym, Wheelchair accessible, Game viewing, Water activities, Walking safari, Cultural experience, Birding, Malaria free, Big Five, Beach, Private plunge pool, All suite, Adults only, Eco lodge, and Fly-in only.
Touri uses these tags, together with the children's ages on the Policies tab, to answer agents' questions such as "which lodges are family friendly?" or "which properties take a six-year-old?". A property without tags simply won't come up for those questions.
Fill gaps from the property's website
Under the property name, the Fill the gaps from the website panel reads the property's website and suggests details you're missing — star rating, location, rooms, rates, policies and more. You choose what to apply. See Filling gaps from a website.
Delete a property
Select it, use the delete button on its form, and confirm. It's marked Deletes on publish and disappears from your network when you next publish.
Which brand am I working in?
Properties belong to the brand that's currently active in your sidebar. If you manage multiple brands, check the brand switcher at the top of your sidebar before adding a property. See Brand switching.
Tips
- Fill in the location, policies and feature tags before you share rates. They're what agents (and Touri) use to decide whether a property fits a trip.
- Check your cancellation policy every season — it's visible to agents and can be a deciding factor.
- Correcting a property on the rate review screen and on Properties & Services uses the same forms, so learn one and you know both.
